Here I have listed 16 useful and important Firefox extensions for SEOs, Developers and Other Users.

Long time I haven’t post anything about external sites in my blog.

Finally, after a long time of every day work shit, I managed to write something, today I’ve come up with some tools and tips which are very useful for SEOs, web designers and developers, like most website designers, developers and SEO experts, I use a vast range of tools and widgets to get the job done, few of them are desktop applications and few are web applications, few are paid and few are absolutely free and some are partially free. Below are few of my favorite add-on

HTML ValidatorHTML Validator checks pages from within the Firefox web browser and validates web pages to the W3C standards with a simple green check in the corner of the page if the page validates, a red check if it doesn’t, and a yellow exclamation point if there are warnings. It also gives an enhanced view of source code that allows you to see where errors are within the code.

FireFTP – It is free, secure, cross-platform FTP client that provides easy and spontaneous access to FTP servers. It removes a piece of software for those of you who use a separate program for FTP.

Professor X – Professor X lets you analyze header information without seeing source code. The page “slides” down and Professor X shows you the contents of the page's head element, including Meta, Script and Style content.

NikkelWHOIS – NikkelWhois lets you view the WHOIS information for any page by just clicking the button on the top-right of the browser. It is WHOIS lookup that adds a small WHOIS button next to your URL go button.

IE Tab – IE Tab embeds Internet Explorer in a Mozilla/Firefox tab. This is derived from the famous extension IE View, so if you are sick of substituting between IE and Firefox when testing out a web page you’re developing, With IE Tab you can view Internet Explorer in a Firefox Tab!

FireBug – IT is an advanced debugger console that lets you monitor your JavaScript, CSS, HTML and Ajax.

Codetech – It is a web page editor that has the feel of Dreamweaver. Its an amazing extension for anyone doing web design that doesn’t want to fork out a few hundred dollars for Dreamweaver.

Server Switcher – easily switch between sites on your development and live servers by clicking the switch server icon.

SEO for Firefox – pulls useful market research data right into Google's and Yahoo!'s search results, including Google PR, Age, links, Alexa rank, WHOIS, and more. It also adds a few helpful links to the top of the search pages, including Google Trends, Google Traffic Estimator, and the Overture View Bid tool.

Yet Another Window Resizer – allows you to resize browser window to default screen resolutions.

AdSense Preview – preview the Google AdSense ads that would appear on that page. This is incredibly useful if you are considering putting AdSense on a page and don’t want to go through the hassle of signing up for an account and putting the ads up just to see what type of ads will show.

Screen grab – takes a screenshot of the webpage and saves it as an image file. This saves a ton of time compared to the method I used to use – take a screenshot and open Adobe Photoshop to crop the image.

Server Spy – indicates what brand of HTTP server (Apache, IIS, etc.) runs on the visited site on the lower-right side of the browser.

ColorZilla: Choosing color is always a key point when developing any websites, its an color picker with which you can get a color reading from any point in your browser, quickly adjust this color and paste it into another program. ColorZilla is a very useful add-on for Firefox and a must for web designers. You can pick color code for any point in the browser window, it lets you zoom the page you are viewing and measure distances between any two points on the page. The built-in palette browser allows choosing colors from pre-defined color sets and saving the most used colors in custom palettes.

RoboForm: RoboForm is the top-rated password manager and web form filler that completely automates password entering and form filling. This tool is very useful for Link Builders.

Copy as HTML Link
:
Copy as HTML instead of a normal hyper link. Makes posting links in your blog slightly easier. Not the best extension, but it should be mentioned on the list.

Few months back Google had launched Google Sites as a part of Google Apps for organizations/companies/firms that wanted to use their own services on their own domains, which has been made more easy for everyone and now any one can set up a website to share every kind of information, be it company intranets, community groups, team projects, clubs. Google says You name it, You got it! It is very easy. The upside is that all this is in one place. People can now host their own website at http://sites.google.com/[mywebsite] and add as many pages people like and all this is for free

Generally people doesn’t talk or think about the size of the traffic, however that does come into play in SERPs. Recently I was reading an article that why eBay ranked high on most or almost all search queries relating the word "BUY". Same is with Wikipedia; Wikipedia is also ranked on first page for almost all the queries.

Have you ever though about is, answer is so simple that eBay uses the word "BUY" in combination with almost all the products, and no doubt it is a popular website and also a well populated with the age factor which always goes in its support and I think that’s the primary reason. People trusts it, use it and it’s a good thing in Search Engines’ eyes, therefore Google gives it added importance because it believes it justifies to be ranked well for its important keywords.

Now the question arises, how every one can become popular? There are so many ways to gain recognition but two things are very important, one is Search Engine Saturation and second is your link popularity, you should always strive to attract more and more quality inbound links to the website. For search engine saturation, you just need to create more and more well optimized web pages just about the central topic using long tail keywords that will rank your site highly in SERPs.

Try these two things well on steady bases and you’ll see your traffic rise steadily.

Today I came across a very influential picture that explains a very powerful and important SEO theory.

The picture says it all:

SEO - Importance of Keyword Clustering

Now the first thing which comes into mind is that how pertinent is this? Is it really important or not? Extremely pertinent! I guess because when we try to optimize our website for many keywords we finds that it very tough to wing for high competitive keywords but trying to win for only one keywords, I think, is almost unfeasible, and especially if that keyphrase is highly competitive. Nevertheless, once we established as a authority website on that particular keyword or them with the supporting content then it can become easy over the period of time

Now I’ll use the same technique to optimize my Blog on top keywords.

And I really thanks to elliance for developing such an excellent picture.

Technorati Profile

Link baiting is the latest news or we can say latest trend in the Search Engine Marketing World. Link bait is the content, special report, etc. on your site to which other sites link or that attract quality one way back links for your web site or web page, because they wish to, not because you request them to. Conventionally, links are tough to get, but with this latest technique (link baiting), you "bait" your content and sit back and wait.

So many articles have been written on Link Bait that are naturally attracting back links, in this you just create something or we can say a list of unreachable resources, any special report or any thing that naturally catch the attention of people and attract backlink for your page by getting people to discussing on it, talk about it, posting it on social networking websites, blogging about it and linking to it from their website. It also attracts quality traffic.

In order to bait links, you require a hook. Hooks come in range of flavors. The easiest, and safest is the nice hook, few of them are and examples of each hook:

  • News hook

it’s a genuine scoop so first collect any important news or depict a story for a scam, or to be blemished. You must have to know your theme to do that , but links flood like water if you can expose a popular mimeme

  • Divergent Hook

    • Be the only one in your niche to find something to not like about a story, or like about a story/product.
    • On the same theme, post "Why is WRONG about..."

  • Attack Hook

This is quite similar to the divergent hook as you need to be much, much ruder, and it works same as the divergent hook, though it is hard to be so rude as it could land me in hot water. But I can’t help because my main aim is to get more and more traffic and sometimes it’s absolutely killer and can gain you credibility and reputation overnight. But be careful with that one. It can just as easily go the wrong way.

  • Resource Hook
    • A wide-ranging directory of web blogs in your niche - link out, and links will come in, I guarantee. Or you write on A How to based on your niche.
    • A practical/useful or even fun tool related to your niche
    • A compilation of news stories on a theme. Sprinkle a little analysis in there, and you're good to go.

  • Humor Hook

These kinds of hooks are just too easy. You can look for flicker, photoshop a out of the ordinary pic of your subject and write about 10 or more things I love about or hate about but I think, I hate about would work better

Funny thing is, those things always get links, it's like people never seem to tire of them.

Give and thou wilt receive...

All of the above is completely useless without being seen by your peers though. Link to them in your post, then click those links if you have absolutely no traffic. You need to get their initial attention.

Send emails, post to delicious, myweb2 etc - just make sure that at least one prominent blogger in your niche reads and links to you and the rest will follow.

Now, what I want to listen to is this: What other types of link bait do you use? So Please comment if you have more info on link bait.

Google, the most popular search engine has decided to fund CodeWeavers, the innovator of Wine software to introduce Adobe Photoshop that would operate on the Linux computers. A Survey conducted by desktop Linux advocate Novell revealed that Photoshop is the only non-Linux application that the Linux users would like to have. This enabled Google to fund CodeWeavers to ensure that Photoshop and other Creative Suite software would run on Linux computers. Dan Kegel, a Google engineer and Wine 1.0 release manager is spearheading the project with a team of expert professionals. “I am really happy that Google has hired us. The CodeWeavers programmers have accepted the challenge to develop Adobe Photoshop to run on Linux OS, and I am happy to say that they work fine now,” explained Kegel on a blog post.

Google has confirmed that it hired the Codeweavers to make specific improvements to Wine so that Adobe Photoshop CS and CS2 work better on the Linux computers. Keeping in mind with the current trend of technology and virtual development of software, Google is ready to witness the successful launch of 'Photoshop-on-Linux' project shortly.

Code already integrated into winehq. See http://code.google.com/opensource/wine.html for a partial list
