Today google has added a very new feature to Google Toolbar, Google Sidewiki. It allows users or web site visitors to leave comments about the websites / webpages they are visiting.
You can share you views or leave your comments for others, about that particular webpage, whether you like it or not, However your views can only shared with those who also have sidewiki enabled.
Google just introduced Google Sidewiki, a new service or we can say a new feature in the Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. With Sidewiki, visitors can share their views or leave comments about that particular webpage, whether you like it or not.
However, Sidewiki doesn’t work on Chrome, Sidewiki for Chrome will be available later.
To use Sidewiki, you have to install the latest version of Google Toolbar (version for Firefox 6.1, Internet Explorer 6.3), and a Google account. With the help of Sidewiki users can share knowledge and experience with users from around the world. You can write comments, share knowledge and communicate additional information when you visit different web sites. All you need to do is open the sidebar on the left of the browser window. The contributions are visible to all the users
"Many visitors of the websites may have different opinions, experiences, facts and knowledge about the page or website they are visitng, which could greatly enhance the wealth of knowledge and experience of many future visitors to that wesite," said Tom Stocky, director of product management at Google. " By adding an interactive element to the experience of viewing a webpage, Sidewiki has the power to increase information sharing online and enhance people's overall web experience."
