Official Google Blog: A new approach to how we work with advertising agencies
Posted by Raj | 4:12 AM | 2 comments »Google Sidewiki Launched: Allows Anyone To Comment About Any Site
Posted by Raj | 6:57 AM | google, google sidewiki, google toolbar, sidewiki | 5 comments »Today google has added a very new feature to Google Toolbar, Google Sidewiki. It allows users or web site visitors to leave comments about the websites / webpages they are visiting.
You can share you views or leave your comments for others, about that particular webpage, whether you like it or not, However your views can only shared with those who also have sidewiki enabled.
Google just introduced Google Sidewiki, a new service or we can say a new feature in the Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. With Sidewiki, visitors can share their views or leave comments about that particular webpage, whether you like it or not.
However, Sidewiki doesn’t work on Chrome, Sidewiki for Chrome will be available later.
To use Sidewiki, you have to install the latest version of Google Toolbar (version for Firefox 6.1, Internet Explorer 6.3), and a Google account. With the help of Sidewiki users can share knowledge and experience with users from around the world. You can write comments, share knowledge and communicate additional information when you visit different web sites. All you need to do is open the sidebar on the left of the browser window. The contributions are visible to all the users
"Many visitors of the websites may have different opinions, experiences, facts and knowledge about the page or website they are visitng, which could greatly enhance the wealth of knowledge and experience of many future visitors to that wesite," said Tom Stocky, director of product management at Google. " By adding an interactive element to the experience of viewing a webpage, Sidewiki has the power to increase information sharing online and enhance people's overall web experience."

Looking for hidusb.sys and mouhid.sys?
Posted by Raj | 11:47 PM | hidusb sys, mouhid sys, usb keywboard, usb mouse, usb stick | 24 comments »I bet, right now someone somewhere must be searching for "hidusb.sys and mouhid.sys" over the internet.
Now the question is: What are hidusb.sys and mouhid.sys for? Have you purchased any USB mouse, USB stick or USB keyboard? There you are, you will probably be asked to "insert" any of the two files to continue while installing a new USB mouse or keyboard.
These files are Windows System files. They are not dangerous, virus, or Spyware and they are not even very large.
Don’t try searching for them on your PC, may be you would not have them if XP is asking for them.
I have spent few days finding them myself.
You can download hidusb.sys and mouhid.sys!

Face-to-Face Meeting Between Microsoft and Yahoo!
Posted by Raj | 1:26 PM | Carol Bartz, Microhoo, Microsoft, Steve Ballmer, Yahoo, Yahoo Microsoft, Yahoo Search | 3 comments »According to a report on the All Things Digital Website, preliminary discussion between Yahoo! and Microsoft about a search partnership, now have taken place.
The report said that Talks have included a face to face meeting between Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. All Things Digital Website stressed that the talks are centered on what sort of advertising and search partnership might be possible.
Steve Ballmer has been saying for months he would be open to a search deal, while Carol Bartz is not so excited for such an agreement, in her far more limited comments on the subject.
In Past few months, Microsoft's position has strengthened somewhat, with Redmond having hired a number of Yahoo's top search individuals, including Qi Lu. Few business deals have also been grabbed by the company aimed at boosting its query share and begun testing of its next-generation search product, code-named Kumo.
But the software maker also needs the share boost that Yahoo could give it. Microsoft is preparing to back Kumo's launch with a big ad push and would benefit from spreading those costs over more than its current single-digit share of the market.
Yahoo, meanwhile, has held more than double Microsoft's share, but could be headed for a decline after losing several toolbar deals to Microsoft and Google. A report on Thursday said the lost deals could cost the company as much as three percentage points of share, or 15 percent of its search volume.
16 useful and important Firefox extensions for SEOs, Developers and Other Users.
Posted by Raj | 12:59 AM | firefox extensions, hard core seo tips, web design tools, web development tools | 5 comments »Here I have listed 16 useful and important Firefox extensions for SEOs, Developers and Other Users.
Long time I haven’t post anything about external sites in my blog.
Finally, after a long time of every day work shit, I managed to write something, today I’ve come up with some tools and tips which are very useful for SEOs, web designers and developers, like most website designers, developers and SEO experts, I use a vast range of tools and widgets to get the job done, few of them are desktop applications and few are web applications, few are paid and few are absolutely free and some are partially free. Below are few of my favorite add-on
HTML Validator – HTML Validator checks pages from within the Firefox web browser and validates web pages to the W3C standards with a simple green check in the corner of the page if the page validates, a red check if it doesn’t, and a yellow exclamation point if there are warnings. It also gives an enhanced view of source code that allows you to see where errors are within the code.
FireFTP – It is free, secure, cross-platform FTP client that provides easy and spontaneous access to FTP servers. It removes a piece of software for those of you who use a separate program for FTP.
Professor X – Professor X lets you analyze header information without seeing source code. The page “slides” down and Professor X shows you the contents of the page's head element, including Meta, Script and Style content.
NikkelWHOIS – NikkelWhois lets you view the WHOIS information for any page by just clicking the button on the top-right of the browser. It is WHOIS lookup that adds a small WHOIS button next to your URL go button.
IE Tab – IE Tab embeds Internet Explorer in a Mozilla/Firefox tab. This is derived from the famous extension IE View, so if you are sick of substituting between IE and Firefox when testing out a web page you’re developing, With IE Tab you can view Internet Explorer in a Firefox Tab!
FireBug – IT is an advanced debugger console that lets you monitor your JavaScript, CSS, HTML and
Codetech – It is a web page editor that has the feel of Dreamweaver. Its an amazing extension for anyone doing web design that doesn’t want to fork out a few hundred dollars for Dreamweaver.
Server Switcher – easily switch between sites on your development and live servers by clicking the switch server icon.
SEO for Firefox – pulls useful market research data right into Google's and Yahoo!'s search results, including Google PR, Age, links, Alexa rank, WHOIS, and more. It also adds a few helpful links to the top of the search pages, including Google Trends, Google Traffic Estimator, and the Overture View Bid tool.
Yet Another Window Resizer – allows you to resize browser window to default screen resolutions.
AdSense Preview – preview the Google AdSense ads that would appear on that page. This is incredibly useful if you are considering putting AdSense on a page and don’t want to go through the hassle of signing up for an account and putting the ads up just to see what type of ads will show.
Screen grab – takes a screenshot of the webpage and saves it as an image file. This saves a ton of time compared to the method I used to use – take a screenshot and open Adobe Photoshop to crop the image.
Server Spy – indicates what brand of HTTP server (Apache, IIS, etc.) runs on the visited site on the lower-right side of the browser.
ColorZilla: Choosing color is always a key point when developing any websites, its an color picker with which you can get a color reading from any point in your browser, quickly adjust this color and paste it into another program. ColorZilla is a very useful add-on for Firefox and a must for web designers. You can pick color code for any point in the browser window, it lets you zoom the page you are viewing and measure distances between any two points on the page. The built-in palette browser allows choosing colors from pre-defined color sets and saving the most used colors in custom palettes.
RoboForm: RoboForm is the top-rated password manager and web form filler that completely automates password entering and form filling. This tool is very useful for Link Builders.
Copy as HTML Link: Copy as HTML instead of a normal hyper link. Makes posting links in your blog slightly easier. Not the best extension, but it should be mentioned on the list.

- Add at least 10 - 12 content pages to your website fortnightly.
- Go without using keywords in your titles
- Abstain from using keywords in your URLs.
- Modify the titles on your least successful pages two times a year.
- Try to find few Search Engine Optimization forums that accept website assessment requests and write at least 20 - 25 reviews in each forum before you ever ask a question.
- Try to create your own SEO book by accumulating your preferred SEO forums and blog posts, articles, and technical tips in a .Doc or .PDF file that you review once a month.
- Optimize your best performing page for the exact mirror of your targeted key phrase expression (turn an WXYZ page into a ZYXW page).
- Write 10 blocks of ad copy of not more than 20 - 30 words each, every week and post them on the Web where they won’t offend anyone.
- Write a full page announcement about your website every fortnight and post it on the web where it won’t offend anyone.
- Create a 1-page listing of 25 unidentified Websites you wish you had created. Post that page on your site.
- Create a forum signature that does not support your site and put it into every profile you have created.
- Design and promote (to no. 1) a 5-10 page Web site about a society project or charitable movement. Now repeat the process without changing or building more links for your first website.
- Find a niche directory you have never heard of before which you feel is honestly listing only one of its kind and useful sites. Promote that niche directory through back links and comments on your own sites until you see development in its Compete, Quant cast, and Alexa metrics.
- Define a metric that uses from three to five factors OTHER THAN Alexa, Google PageRank, Compete Rankings, Quantcast Rankings, and back link counts. Use this metric to track 5-10 websites you don’t control for six months.

How To Attract More & More Traffic to the Website???
Posted by Raj | 8:27 AM | Link Popularity, Search Engine Optimization, search engine saturation, SEO, traffic | 0 comments »Generally people doesn’t talk or think about the size of the traffic, however that does come into play in SERPs. Recently I was reading an article that why eBay ranked high on most or almost all search queries relating the word "BUY". Same is with Wikipedia; Wikipedia is also ranked on first page for almost all the queries.
Have you ever though about is, answer is so simple that eBay uses the word "BUY" in combination with almost all the products, and no doubt it is a popular website and also a well populated with the age factor which always goes in its support and I think that’s the primary reason. People trusts it, use it and it’s a good thing in Search Engines’ eyes, therefore Google gives it added importance because it believes it justifies to be ranked well for its important keywords.
Now the question arises, how every one can become popular? There are so many ways to gain recognition but two things are very important, one is Search Engine Saturation and second is your link popularity, you should always strive to attract more and more quality inbound links to the website. For search engine saturation, you just need to create more and more well optimized web pages just about the central topic using long tail keywords that will rank your site highly in SERPs.
Try these two things well on steady bases and you’ll see your traffic rise steadily.

How Important Keyword Clustering Is?
Posted by Raj | 5:26 AM | Keyword Clustering, Keyword Optimization, Keyword Selection, Search Engine Optimization, SEO | 2 comments »Today I came across a very influential picture that explains a very powerful and important SEO theory.
The picture says it all:![]()
Now the first thing which comes into mind is that how pertinent is this? Is it really important or not? Extremely pertinent! I guess because when we try to optimize our website for many keywords we finds that it very tough to wing for high competitive keywords but trying to win for only one keywords, I think, is almost unfeasible, and especially if that keyphrase is highly competitive. Nevertheless, once we established as a authority website on that particular keyword or them with the supporting content then it can become easy over the period of time
Now I’ll use the same technique to optimize my Blog on top keywords.
And I really thanks to elliance for developing such an excellent picture.

What is Link Bait?
Posted by Raj | 11:29 PM | Link Bait, Link Baiting, Link Builiding, Link Popularity | 2 comments »Link baiting is the latest news or we can say latest trend in the Search Engine Marketing World. Link bait is the content, special report, etc. on your site to which other sites link or that attract quality one way back links for your web site or web page, because they wish to, not because you request them to. Conventionally, links are tough to get, but with this latest technique (link baiting), you "bait" your content and sit back and wait.
So many articles have been written on Link Bait that are naturally attracting back links, in this you just create something or we can say a list of unreachable resources, any special report or any thing that naturally catch the attention of people and attract backlink for your page by getting people to discussing on it, talk about it, posting it on social networking websites, blogging about it and linking to it from their website. It also attracts quality traffic.
In order to bait links, you require a hook. Hooks come in range of flavors. The easiest, and safest is the nice hook, few of them are and examples of each hook:
- News hook
it’s a genuine scoop so first collect any important news or depict a story for a scam, or to be blemished. You must have to know your theme to do that , but links flood like water if you can expose a popular mimeme
- Divergent Hook
- Be the only one in your niche to find something to not like about a story, or like about a story/product.
- On the same theme, post "Why
is WRONG about..."
- Attack Hook
This is quite similar to the divergent hook as you need to be much, much ruder, and it works same as the divergent hook, though it is hard to be so rude as it could land me in hot water. But I can’t help because my main aim is to get more and more traffic and sometimes it’s absolutely killer and can gain you credibility and reputation overnight. But be careful with that one. It can just as easily go the wrong way.
- Resource Hook
- A wide-ranging directory of web blogs in your niche - link out, and links will come in, I guarantee. Or you write on A How to based on your niche.
- A practical/useful or even fun tool related to your niche
- A compilation of news stories on a theme. Sprinkle a little analysis in there, and you're good to go.
- Humor Hook
These kinds of hooks are just too easy. You can look for flicker, photoshop a out of the ordinary pic of your subject and write about 10 or more things I love about or hate about but I think, I hate about would work better
Funny thing is, those things always get links, it's like people never seem to tire of them.
Give and thou wilt receive...
All of the above is completely useless without being seen by your peers though. Link to them in your post, then click those links if you have absolutely no traffic. You need to get their initial attention.
Send emails, post to delicious, myweb2 etc - just make sure that at least one prominent blogger in your niche reads and links to you and the rest will follow.
Now, what I want to listen to is this: What other types of link bait do you use? So Please comment if you have more info on link bait.

Google, the most popular search engine has decided to fund CodeWeavers, the innovator of Wine software to introduce Adobe Photoshop that would operate on the Linux computers. A Survey conducted by desktop Linux advocate Novell revealed that Photoshop is the only non-Linux application that the Linux users would like to have. This enabled Google to fund CodeWeavers to ensure that Photoshop and other Creative Suite software would run on Linux computers. Dan Kegel, a Google engineer and Wine 1.0 release manager is spearheading the project with a team of expert professionals. “I am really happy that Google has hired us. The CodeWeavers programmers have accepted the challenge to develop Adobe Photoshop to run on Linux OS, and I am happy to say that they work fine now,” explained Kegel on a blog post.
Google has confirmed that it hired the Codeweavers to make specific improvements to Wine so that Adobe Photoshop CS and CS2 work better on the Linux computers. Keeping in mind with the current trend of technology and virtual development of software, Google is ready to witness the successful launch of 'Photoshop-on-Linux' project shortly.
Code already integrated into winehq. See http://code.google.com/opensource/wine.html for a partial list
Under Social Media Optimization (also called SMO) is the optimization of websites, so these are easier for Social Media services can commence.
This includes the provision of RSS feeds, integration of Flickr galleries or YouTube videos exactly as you like offering buttons to the sides easier for Social-Bookmarking services can be included.
Sources for Traffic
Search Engines
This is probably the number 1 preferred way to get traffic to any website. Why? Well because this is the most targetted traffic you can get. This is someone going to the search engine, typing in keywords or key phrases and YOUR site popping up in the list. Now the trick is getting your site listed first and that is a discussion for another topic. I will cover that later. For now the important thing is getting you a list of some serch engines that you can tap into to get traffic to your website.
There are many search engines, thousands (probably hundreds of thousands) of search engines out there. Too many to name all here. I am only going to focus on the top 12 search engines that matter. You want your site listed in these, because they account for 95% of the traffic on the web.
1. www.google.com
2. www.yahoo.com
3. www.msn.com
4. AOL - www.aol.com
5. Excite - www.excite.com
6. Ask Jeeves - www.ask.com
7. Altavista - www.altavista.com
8. All the Web - www.alltheweb.com
9. Hotbot - www.hotbot.com
10. Lycos - www.lycos.com
11. Netscape - www.netscape.com
12. Teoma - www.teoma.com
You can probably get listed in the top 3 and do very well for yourself without the remaining 9. The first 3 control 85% of the traffic on the net today. I recommend getting listed in as many as you can. It doesn't hurt. The more engines you are listed, the more visitors to your site.
Asking yourself how do I get listed in these engines? Each engine has specific requirements. Go to each and submit according to their rules. I will tell you that many on the list you will need to pay for inclusion to the engine. Wait a minute! I do not have money to submit to 12 different search engines. Well, your in luck. If you are working with a limited budget, I would limit my marketing to the top 3. Why? one word. . . .FREE. That's right. It's free to submit your site to the top 3 engines on the list.
The top 3 you do not have to pay. You can go to the engine and submit your site. It can take months to get included if your site is lucky to get included at all. Do not have that long to wait? So is there a faster way to get listed, you may be asking. Absolutely. How? That's for another lesson. I will cover that when I get into discussing the big 3 SE's.
Next time we will talk about Web directories. Anoher source, but not as effective. For now, go out there, visit the top 12 engines, and get your site submitted.

Search Engine Optimization - SEO
Search engine optimization or search engine optimization (SEO) is a technical term for methods, which serve to websites with relevant search terms in the results pages of search engines to higher courts appear to be. It also describes the activities of companies and consultants who offer Web pages for search engines to optimize and networking for the Internet presence by linking on the Web. Appeared, in addition to other Internet marketing, online marketing, and Web Optimization Webpromotion.Functioning
Search engine optimization takes account of the approach, according to the various web search engines search the web pages, read its contents and process according to what criteria evaluated and how these results will be collected and sorted (search engine ranking). The functioning of Sorting is from the operators of search engines kept secret, and often amended in order to discourage abuse, and the user only really relevant results. They must, therefore, by the analysis of the search results be closed. The searching and reading the contents of web pages follows against known HTML standards of the Web, compliance with the creation of Web pages the first and essential step in optimization.
Another step is the selection of the most important search words. This may be freely available databases, such as the keyword database or the Metager Web Assoziator operate.
The meta tags, which you in the head area of a home Merge can lose more and more important. To ensure accurate results can be these large search engines like Google hardly observed. It is important to a lot of text in the presence of the Internet to as many keyword phrases and thus better search engines to ensure results. Especially important are the words in the page title (Title-day), in designated headings (H1, H2 tags, etc.), text links (including those based on the relevant page), and within the URL happen.
Traditional search engine optimization
The traditional search engine optimization is usually a site for one or two keywords optimized. It is often also a large page into a number of separate pages to them for several keywords optimized. These are the search words with the appropriate content combined. This (traditional) area is one of the so-called "OnPage Optimization", which means all methods and possibilities, and the content and the structure of a website can be implemented.
Meanwhile, it is no longer sufficient alone, the relevance of Web pages to increase. A good listing and good visibility in search engines, and the quantity and quality of incoming links to a web site (back-links) should be considered. This area of search engine optimization called "OffPage optimization."
To own website once on your potential to investigate Internet agencies provide some free online tools. They are quite easy to use and show the strengths and weaknesses of their own Internet presence. Often it is sufficient to have certain characteristics of the site a little change to get into the search engines on a much better placement again.
Obstacles
Sometimes, the operator of a Web site to decide whether it is a purely graphical, animated images and texts side would like to develop, as the programming Flash allows, or, with less opportunities for classical page design with the help of search engines relevant HTML code and predominantly uses static images. Designs, which are already on the home page or the entire offer to come with short films or graphically embedded texts as a picture element, the search engines offer little evaluable text code. The programming of a Web page exclusively in Flash is therefore currently despite extensive design options from the perspective of search engine optimization.
So to the enormous creative potential of animated start pages or entire internet appearances in Flash without loss of rank, some programmers optimize their pages, therefore, with the help of automated diversions, during which for the search engines to read texts in the form of HTML short phrases to find, But when the image building user's browser because of the speed of an automatic domain forwarding. This technique, with so-called bridge pages, contrary to the guidelines of most search engines. With "streamlined" landing pages as soon as they are noticed by the search engines.
